The Flourishing Families team is thrilled to announce that we have employed our very first graduate intern. Amelia has been a key volunteer for us over the past two years on our mentoring programmes and is now a member of our staff team for the year.
We’re so grateful for all the help we have received enabling us to feed vulnerable families at this time, from generous grants to help with the shopping. Thank you Harvey and Brett from the Leeds Rhinos Foundation– having a couple of rugby players certainly helped with carrying all those cans!
Here at Flourishing Families our regular projects are all on hold, but there is still plenty going on.
Flourishing Families recently organised some training for our English class volunteers. Our English class has continued to grow from strength to strength with a brilliant team of volunteers who give up their time to teach and make contact with our students.
As the Christmas holidays begin we look back on what's been a fantastic term for our family cooking clubs.
This week the Flourishing Families team had the wonderful task of distributing around over 40 big sackfuls of presents to families in some of the schools we work with.
The mentoring projects at Flourishing Families have continued to develop and grow this term- we now have a bigger team of volunteers than ever before, with 20 student mentors helping with sessions on a weekly basis.
