Meet Amelia!

The Flourishing Families team is thrilled to announce that we have employed our very first graduate intern. Amelia has been a key volunteer for us over the past two years on our mentoring programmes and is now a member of our staff team for the year.

So Amelia, tell us a bit about yourself and where you’re from

“I grew up near Sheffield but have been in Leeds for the last 3 years.”

What have you been doing in Leeds?

“I’ve just graduated from university where I was studying maths.”

What is the strangest thing that you have ever made?

“When I was a leader with Girlguiding we once had an Alice in wonderland themed evening. I went as the Queen of Hearts and made my skirt out of several packs of playing cards. Needless to say it wasn’t a very comfortable outfit!”

Amazing! What were you like when you were a child?

“I was a happy and energetic child who loved baking and crafts and was always asking questions!”

What excites you most about joining FFL?

“I’m really excited to join the FFL team and I’m particularly looking forward to the mentoring clubs.”
