February 12th -
Flourishing Families recently organised some training for our English class volunteers. Our English class has continued to grow from strength to strength with a brilliant team of volunteers who give up their time to teach and make contact with our students.
They have been keen to build on their teaching skills and confidence in delivering English lessons and MDA College kindly agreed to deliver some teacher training. The training focused on working with beginner learners, lesson planning and teaching techniques.
The volunteers really enjoyed the training and found it extremely beneficial. One volunteer immediately commented after the session, ‘I already feel more confident to teach!’ So, thank you MDA College for this training session which will indeed help our English class flourish!

This year we’ve begun exciting plans to help transform futures and change lives in Hull, one of the most disadvantaged cities in the UK, where 33.4% of children live in relative poverty.
Earlier this month we had the privilege of hosting the Chancellor of the Exchequer and Member of Parliament for Leeds West and Pudsey, Rachel Reeves, at a showcase of the work we do to empower families.
