Hull and Beyond…running towards the future
This year we’ve begun exciting plans to help transform futures and change lives in Hull, one of the most disadvantaged cities in the UK, where 33.4% of children live in relative poverty.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of some of our supporters, we’ve been busy delivering 75 Christmas hampers to families in East and West Leeds in the last few days. Each bag contains loads of festive goodies and family favourites. The dad of one family who told us that the cupboards were almost bare at home, said, “This has made Christmas for us. It’s brilliant.” Big thankyous go to Waitrose for their fantastic donation of loads of lovely fruit and Tesco’s for their amazing support in giving us access to their warehouse, delivering in one go (we had our own van!) and for contributing £100 of extra groceries.

Earlier this month we had the privilege of hosting the Chancellor of the Exchequer and Member of Parliament for Leeds West and Pudsey, Rachel Reeves, at a showcase of the work we do to empower families.
“You saved Christmas for us,” Gemima said as we handed over four gift-packed stockings for her kids and three large bags of food.
