Story Tellers

This term, Flourishing Families has seen the launch of Story Tellers! Our new family reading group has started in two of our partnering schools with a total of three groups. Story Tellers provides a space for families to practise their literacy skills together in a relaxed environment by taking part in different story corners.

This includes using story books, E-books, nursery rhymes and phonics crafts and games. Some highlights have included phonics fishing, pipe cleaner letters and feed the shark with the ‘sh’ words! We’ve had some great feedback from the families who have taken part, saying that it is a great place to spend time together as families, and a really helpful place for the children to practise their reading skills.

This sums up for us why we do what we do. Everyone deserves to know that they matter, whatever their circumstances and challenges.
