Celebrating our Invaluable Volunteers

Flourishing Families is supported by a wonderful and diverse team of volunteers. The generous gift of their time and expertise helps make the groups what they are – fun and welcoming spaces to learn and grow together. The number of volunteers has been increasing steadily in recent months, allowing us to support more families and host further sessions. Our volunteers come from all walks of life; some have stayed on after taking part in one of our groups, some are students, others retired. Each one brings their own experience, enthusiasm, and compassion, and all are united in their desire to make a difference. Together, they help us break down the barriers that hinder families from flourishing, and we couldn’t be more grateful. One of our wonderful volunteers, Liz told us why she loves volunteering for FFL:

It’s so rewarding to be able to make a genuine difference to the families’ lives. I can see the transformation week on week in the families’ confidence and bonding. I love being a part of the team, and we’re so appreciated by the families and the schools. It’s an absolute joy to volunteer for FFL. I feel so valued and respected. I’ve developed and grown so much as a person.

Liz

I’m a Somebody

“Before this group, I felt like a nobody. Now I feel like somebody.” This was the answer 8-year-old Evie gave when asked about the difference our Activity-Based Mentoring Group had made for her. This sums up for us why we do what we do. Everyone deserves to know that they matter, whatever their circumstances and challenges.
